FAQ

Lifestyle during the Renovation

Q. Can we live in the house while it is being renovated?
A. this depends on the scale of renovation. This will be discussed with the builder when we discuss your plans and project in detail. We always endeavour to keep you in your house except if it is unsafe or logistically unreasonable. If staying the building team will designate a separate access for you.

Q. How do you keep the dust and mess out of the rest of our home or premises?
A. We have invested in an encapsulation system called Zipwall www.zipwall.com which is a heavy duty clear plastic screen. It ensures that construction dust is minimized and doubles as a safety zone for your family or staff & clients.

Q. What do we do with all of our belongings?
A. There is often a part of the house that can be used as a storage space. If this is not possible you will need to arrange storage elsewhere and have your belongings out before the renovation begins.


Making your selections

Q. What are PC’s?
A. PC stand for the words provisional costs and are items in your build that change depending on client preference. These items include flooring, bathroom fixtures, kitchen fixtures, cabinetry, carpet, robes etc. When we prepare your renovation proposal we chose on your behalf high quality PC items to suit your project.

Q. What happens if we want to change our PC selections?
A. Yes. You can choose alternatives with our suppliers. If you would prefer we can take the PC allowance out of your contract, allowing you to source and purchase your own items.

Q. What happens if the PC items that we choose cost more than you have allowed?
A. If they are more costly than the nominated amount then we will create a variation form and you will pay for the additional cost.

Q. Can we get help with selections of our PC’s?
A. Yes we include one on one time with our designer to make your selections as a standard part of your building contract. If you do not require help with this please let us know.

Q. Do we have help making decisions that we may need to make throughout the build?
A. Yes. We include two hrs of support time each week for the duration of your project. This covers phone calls, emails, site visits or visits to Studio Q at Renovation HQ. This is included in your building contract.


Work on site each day

Q. Who will be on site each day?
A. Carpenters, tradesmen will be on site most days.
We have a dedicated Construction Manager who oversees each of the trades on site and gives weekly updates to inform you of weekly targets and progress.The builder and project consultant will also visit the site throughout the course of the renovation.

Q. What hours are the tradesmen on site?
A. General hours are 7am until 3:30pm Monday to Friday. If required they will work until 5pm or on weekends if suitable to the clients.

Q. Do the carpenters deliver high quality work?
A. Our carpenters are BSA Licensed and highly qualified. We have sourced the best in the game and secured them for to provide the best for our clients.

Q. What about the other tradesmen who come to work on our renovation?
Q. Are the tradesmen allowed to smoke on site?
A. No. Smoking is not allowed at all.

Q. Are the tradesmen required to keep the site clean and tidy?
A. At the end of each day the tradesmen are required to clean up the site and remove any rubbish.
